SECOND HARVEST HEARTLAND'S MISSION IS TO END HUNGER TOGETHER. IN PARTNERSHIP, WE PROVIDE 78% OF THE FOOD DISTRIBUTED BY MORE THAN 1,000 FOOD SHELVES AND PARTNER PROGRAMS IN MINNESOTA AND WESTERN WISCONSIN.

Bridging

Bridging’s mission is to address the growing need for essential household furnishings among low-income families transitioning into stable housing in the Twin Cities. Once individuals and families secure stable housing, they often move into empty units without beds, tables, seating, dressers, or basic housewares, making it harder to settle in, establish routines, and sustain the progress they have fought to achieve. Bridging fills this critical gap by providing complete home setups that help transform housing into a safe, functional, and dignified home. On average, each family of four receives about $1,900 worth of furniture and household goods, easing immediate financial strain and allowing limited income to be directed toward rent, food, health care, transportation, and other essentials.
