This project will enable children and youth in our community in rural Uganda to plant gardens and fruit trees. The gardens provide an opportunity for environmental education and learning about sustainable farming, while also producing nutritious foods for the needy people.
Learning about sustainable farming, while also helping to raise food for poor and needy people is very empowering . This program improves child nutrition and health, increases attendance and enthusiasm for learning, and demonstrates to families how they can continue to farm and help the environment. We hope the success of the programs will inspire others in the region to implement similar projects.
