FY23 Empowering Women of Color Fund

America brands itself as the land of opportunity, but if you're a woman, who must take care of children and work a day-job to support them, in many ways, we bear a heavy load to get through the day and pave the way for a positive future. Women of all income levels feel this stress in our country and the threat of being crushed under the weight of never having quite enough, not being able to provide, living one mistake away from ruin. Some more than others feel the effects of something as small as running late and missing the bus and not being able to afford an Uber can lead to missing a shift and losing their job. The day-to-day decisions involved with living paycheck-to-paycheck can be cumulatively exhausting, depleting, overwhelming, paralyzing. Now, more than ever, do I feel it is important to support each other as women, to have the opportunity to be economically resilient.
