St John Baptist Church
For 32 years, Al Pegram was a valuable employee of Campbell Soup Company. He was a former R&D Technician for the NAFS group. After his passing, the city of Camden donated a house that is now being used to distribute clothes to the needy. Al and his family have also been a part of the St. John Baptist Church for numerous years. In his memory, 21 years ago a few of the R&D folk created an event for St. John Baptist Church in Camden. Every year in December a group of R&D folks and Santa Clause would bring Christmas to the kids at the St. John Daycare. Normally we would cook breakfast for the 52 kids and 20 staff and have Santa Claus, Mrs. Claus, and the Elves bring holiday cheer to the daycare. We take pictures with the kids, bring gifts for the kids and staff, read a Christmas related story, and sing Christmas Carols.
This year things have changed because of COVID-19, so instead of doing an in-person giving event we have found three other options to continue giving in honor of Al Pegram to this organization while staying safe during this time.
Ways to Give:
- Collecting monetary donations for St. John's that they will use to purchase food for their Thanksgiving boxes.
- Volunteer on 11/15/2022 from 12pm-4pm to help fill a pallet with products from World Headquarters. Employees who help with this can log their time.
- R&D Department canned goods collection at the R&D team swag pick-up times/locations. Employees who drop off a donation can log their time.
Goal: 50 Thanksgiving Boxes and 30 Essential Item Kits
