Women In Technology
Women in Technology (WIT) is a nonprofit in Atlanta, Georgia founded in 1992 which supports and empowers girls and women in STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, math) from the classroom to the boardroom. WIT today has over 18,000 members in Georgia, 200 volunteers and our WIT pathway journey begins with girls and women in middle, high school and college participating in our WIT Girls and WIT Campus education and mentoring programs. We continue support through our WIT YoPros (young professionals) to our WIT Careers and our WIT Entrepreneurs Program. We have grown our impact to serve disadvantaged single mothers (earning less than $30,000 annually) through our WIT Single Mothers Education Program with Supportive Services.
Society of Women Engineers
Educational - inform public of qualifications, abilities, and achievements of women engineers to improve utilization of engineering talent for economic and social benefit of humanity, and to encourage young women to enter the engineering professions and to guide them in their education programs. Awarded $12,250 scholarships (grants) to 9 young women pursuing degrees in engineering or computer science. Delivered week-long summer program for GetSET (Get Science, Engr, Tech) program to about 90 high school girls yearly, as well as targeted programs throughout school year. Provided membership professional development sessions throughout year.
