By now most of you know that I'm running in the London Marathon next month. It's been a gruelling process and will be my first and last marathon... but it's all in the name of charity and well worth the pain! This year I am running in support of Children's Cancer & Leukaemia Group (CCLG). Each week in the UK and Ireland, more than 30 children are diagnosed with cancer and around 1 in 8 children do not survive. Your donation to support every kilometre I run, will help to fund information and research that enables quicker diagnosis and kinder more effective treatments, shaping a future where every child diagnosed with cancer survives to live happy, healthy and independent life. My son was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukaemia in 2016, he was 8 years old. He is now 13 and we are getting back to normal, but the experience has opened my eyes to the need for more funding into Children specific cancer treatments. Many current treatments haven't changed in decades. We need more effective, kinder treatments for our children. This fund is to donate to the Children's Cancer and Leukaemia Group Charity, who are dedicated to funding research into Children's cancer and providing support and awareness to parents, carers and the medical profession.

With other countries rearranging the walk for the Camino in Spain, the UK CSN Team, in conjunction with Pavelka, is doing its own version – the UK way – 22k from Cookham to Henley or 10k around Henley along the Thames Path! Family, friends and pets (walking or running!) are welcome to join and participate in either of the challenges.
