Don't we all love a triple threat? Well, my passion for these three causes - women in technology, tornado relief in the US, and education in the DR - were all birthed during three defining moments in my life. My first ever job at a wonderful, but largely male-dominated IT department inspired my desire to see more women studying and learning technology and computer science. My Spring Break trip rebuilding tornado-devestated houses in Alabama sparked my interest in disaster relief. And last but not least, my study abroad trip to the Dominican Republic stirred my longing to see better education brought to the country. These experiences have shaped me much more than I could have imagined and as I - and you all - contribute support - we will begin to see the budding of hope and the blooming of steadfast, life-changing progress.
