Across the country, people like you and I are doing what we can to protect ourselves and one another from COVID-19 by practicing social distancing. This tactic has been successful in slowing the naturally rampant spread of the disease, but we can do more. In the coming weeks, many Americans will receive a stimulus check to help pay rent, shop for food and support local businesses during this pandemic. However, some of us are in stable financial positions and might not need that money as much as other people in our communities. We have the opportunity to redirect these funds toward those in our communities that may be suffering from harsher financial pains.
