Save the Ships - help us support the Destroyers of the Historic Fleet

Destroyer Veterans have a home port with DesVets - the National Association of Destroyer Veterans, a unit of Tin Can Sailors, Inc., a 501(c)(3) charitable corporation.

Non-profits in this fund are dedicated to serving the needs of wounded or disabled veterans and their families, ending homelessness and combating the high rate of suicide within the active, retired and veteran community. They promised to defend, we promise to support.

On January 19th, 2018 at midnight the US government shut down. This shutdown affects many populations, but most notably the impact on troops and civilian personnel who work in operations that are considered essential is pronounced. Military personnel are required to work without pay during the government shutdown, even though they have bills to pay and families to feed. Bright Funds has established the Support Military Personnel Fund, in solidarity with the people who work hard to protect our country.

Deployment 2 Employment We are the Heart of a Fighter “FLEET” ready for deployment at a moments notice supporting projects all around the world. Our fleet is comprised of men and women from all branches of the service, we are a diverse group with many talents to share with civilian employment opportunities.

Veterans are champions of Aim Higher...even after our service ends, a lot of Veterans still aim to serve. These nonprofits aim to help Veterans that may need help with transition, allows them to tell their story, and exhibits some real #wenoti and gives back to the community. I am running the Marine Corps Marathon in October and am fundraising to support the Semper FI Fund. The Semper Fi Fund provides immediate financial assistance and lifetime support to post 9/11 wounded, critically ill and injured members of all branches of the U.S. Armed Forces, and their families.

Dogs helping vets!

Soldiers Best Friend provides U.S. military veterans living with combat-related Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) or Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) with Service or Therapeutic Companion Dogs, most of which are rescued from local shelters. The veteran and dog train together to build a trusting relationship that saves two lives at once and inspires countless others.

This is an evolving fund focused on organizations whose primary focus is on helping veterans of the U.S. Military, particularly those injured in combat.
