Rohingya Refugee Crisis Relief Fund
The Rohingya are a Muslim minority community that has lived for centuries in Myanmar, where they have long suffered persecution. In August 2017, having become the targets of a military-led campaign of brutal violence, over 700,000 Rohingya fled Myanmar’s Rakhine state into Bangladesh, joining hundreds of thousands more who had fled Myanmar during a previous exodus. The refugees settled in Cox’s Bazar, where hillsides were quickly cleared of trees and vegetation to accommodate the massive influx of traumatized families and children. These refugees depend on humanitarian aid for shelter, food, clothing, healthcare, and child education. We have created this fund to provide relief to survivors through emergency supplies like food, water, and medicine, in addition to longer-term recovery assistance to help refugees recover and rebuild. SOLIDARIEDADE NA MOKILI, a 501 (C) (3) nonprofit organization, works to save lives, defeat poverty and provide tools for sustainable change to the people most vulnerable to hunger, violence, and disease.
