In response to the powerful earthquake in Nepal on April 25, Cloudera Cares has established a fund to help five non-profits. Through a single tax deductible donation, you can help multiple organizations' initiatives to provide short-term and long-term response and recovery. Each charity was pre-vetted to ensure that donations will have the highest impact possible for those in Nepal. Our approach to selecting non-profits was to collaborate with Cloudera employees who have family in Nepal and paired their suggestions with research to ensure that your donations are in good hands with these organizations. We have selected charities that are on the ground assisting with immediate relief needs, including rescue efforts, medical assistance, and providing access to clean water, food and shelter.

A 7.9 magnitude earthquake (and 150+ aftershocks) hit central Nepal in one of the deadliest earthquake in 80 years. More than 4000 people lost their life. We are devasted by the sad news. Please pray for the who lost their lives in the devastating event. http://www.nepalseattle.org/index.php

In the aftermath of the Nepal earthquake, our community at Box has the opportunity to come together to support Box.org nonprofit partners involved in the disaster recovery efforts in Nepal.

In response to the powerful earthquake in Nepal on April 25, Bright Funds has established the Nepal Earthquake Disaster Response and Recovery Fund, comprised of pre-vetted nonprofits providing disaster response in Nepal. Through a single tax deductible donation to the Fund, you can help multiple organizations' initiatives to provide short-term and long-term response and recovery. Our Fund approach is informed by expert and local recommendations, based on up to date information from disaster philanthropy and nongovernmental organization networks. The Fund's strategy is similarly dynamic and responsive: as information on local communities needs becomes available, we will update the organizations in this Fund, directing donations towards specific organizations doing work in the areas most affected. We have initially selected organizations that are on the ground assisting with immediate relief needs, including rescue efforts, medical assistance, and providing access to clean water, food and shelter. West Africa is being plagued by an outbreak of Ebola since early 2014. Ebola is a terrifying disease that has no cure and causes its victims to bleed to death from the inside out. Since June, there has been a new outbreak and is spreading fast. Support organizations like Doctors Without Borders and American Red Cross working to provide the people affected with medical emergency aid.

A severe and deadly storm system has affected millions in the South and Midwest United States. Numerous tornadoes have swept through the area, causing widespread damage, injuries, and over 30 deaths. Help provide much needed relief for those affected.

Super Typhoon Haiyan reached the central Philippines on November 8, causing widespread destruction and the loss several thousand lives. Entire villages are destroyed and people are desperately in need of food, water, and medical help. Haiyan may be the deadliest natural catastrophe on record in the Philippines.
